Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 670

While Vincent gave Awa the thumbs up, he was also looking at the Promised Quest window following his line of sight. He could see Awa and her acceptance of Vincent all in one view.

Vincent didn’t have time to read all the details. All that mattered was the quest appearing, meaning Awa had accepted the promise to be escorted.

Orso extended its head and opened its large mouth. The sharp teeth closed in on Vincent.

While Vincent was in danger, green light appeared. He sidestepped, threw the green light inside Orso’s mouth, and jumped, avoiding being bitten by a hair.

The largemouth closed and from Orso’s nose bridge, a yellow blade poked out. Yellowish steam raised from the yellow blade, similar to Vincent’s mutation, once again.

Vincent knew he had barely dealt any damage to the large monstrous bear. However, he could now know Orso was weak from the inside, even if it had mutated, blood coursing through its veins.

Orso angrily slammed its front paw on the ground. An earth spike extended from the ground a moment later.

Vincent was caught off guard. He had to use another Soul Invite and cancel on himself to escape from the attack unharmed.

Thanks to the cheat-like perception boost, Vincent could manage to move his body and grab onto the rising earth spike. He kept holding on to the rising spike until to stopped when reaching about ten feet tall.

Vincent looked at Orso on an equal level now. While Vincent held on to the earth spike and keenly gazed at Orso, the gauntlets and Overflow were absorbing the mana left in the earth spike.

Orso moved its jaw violently from one side to the other until the blade snapped. Orso chewed the rest of the blade and hilt before gulping as if it was a treat.

Orso swung its front paw at Vincent. The earth spike was destroyed as if it was made out of clumps of dust, causing a small cloud of dust.

Vincent appeared under Orso’s head. “Thanks for the meal, but let me return the mana back to you.” He said while smirking.

Vincent jumped upwards and finger-shanked Orso’s throat. “Shatter!” He shouted while a large amount of collected condensed mana rushed inside Orso’s body like a thunder root.

Orso’s throat bloated, and roots of destruction spread like a thunder strike for about two meters long each. The hardened fur broke, and the clumps of hardened fur fell to the ground.

Awa became astonished by the destructive attack. She believed the attack must be Vincent’s trump card and believed Vicent had a chance to win now.

However, the hope Vincent’s attack provided didn’t last long. Orso moaned in pain, yet it didn’t flinch from the pain this time. As if the large bear made pained sounds without feeling a lot of pain.

Awa saw Orso swinging its paw at Vincent. The moment Vincent’s feet touched the ground, Orso’s paw reached him.

*Thud! Bam!* Vincent was knocked in the air and slammed against a tree trunk violently. The damage Vincent received was potent enough to trigger the Pain Mitigation trait.

.

[Notice]

[Mutation Trait – Pain Mitigation increased from 18% to 19%]

.

[V... Vin... Vincent.]

“Argh. Kazumi. I can hear you now.” Vincent responded after recovering from disorientation. His back and his shoulder hurt from the impact caused by blocking the attack and the collision with the tree.

Vincent moved his gaze to the cabin. He saw Plow bark worriedly and ask if Vincent was badly hurt.

Awa was frowning. Her expression gave the image of a worried person. Vincent started to assume Awa was cheering for his victory instead of not caring about the result.

On the other hand, Zero had become smaller than before. The legs were rooted to the ground, and the vine in its body moved downwards. Zero gave the impression of being prepared to assist at any moment.

“This is but a scratch,” Vincent said while getting up.

Vincent cracked his aching back. “I almost forgot how it felt to be weaker than my opponent.” Vincent cracked his neck and knuckles. “But now I have to do what I have always tried to do. Now it is time to survive.”

Vincent took a deep breath and exhaled a puff of green steam. “My blood is green, and my blood is mean. Your blood is yellow like piss.”

[Sigh... why are you mocking that monster? It is not like it can understand you.]

“But it makes me feel better. Hahaha.” Vincent joked while laughing in his rough voice.

Awa heard Vincent laugh and talk to himself as if he had lost his mind. ‘Did he hit his head? Is he not going to keep the promise? Did I make a mistake in trusting the race that likes to steal and sell people?’ She pondered.

Awa’s questions were soon answered. The moment Vincent stopped laughing, he charged at Orso with great speed.

Vincent closed the distance, and in a second, he reached striking distance. Vincent jumped and clenched his fist before throwing a powerful strike.

Orso was quickly recovering from the injury, but the recovery speed was many times less than Overload Vincent. Despite that, Orso opened its large jaws as if it felt no pain and closed the sharp teeth at Vincent’s arm.

Awa closed her eyes before hearing *Chomp. Clang* Awa didn’t want to see the obvious result. She didn’t want to see Vincent with his arm missing and blood splashing all over the place. She didn’t want to see the snow-covered with a lot of blood again.

‘Huh? Why is he not screaming in pain? Did... did he die a proud warrior’s death?’ Awa questioned in her thoughts. She curiously squinted her eyes open. She saw Vincent’s arm intact and his gauntlet being crushed by sharp teeth.

*Crack* Vincent frowned when his gauntlet made a sound of cracking. It meant his gauntlet couldn’t hold for much longer against the pressure of the powerful jaws.

[Vincent. This is bad. The durability of the gauntlets has also been reduced. Not only that, but the wounds you inflicted have recovered about halfway.]

-How much time do I have left?-

[About one minute and a half.]

Vincent knew this was the time to prepare for the final move. It was the time to inflict critical damage and finish Orso before Overheat ended.

“ZERO.” Vincent shouted.

“Zero. Obeys.”

“Jam your vines into every hole this large bear has!” Vincent ordered.

Multiple tendrils emerged from the ground. Each one did as Vincent instructed. Eyes, nostrils, ears, and buthole. One after the other, the tendrils penetrated. One, two, three... many tendrils entered the same hole.

Orso had most of its senses temporarily disabled, and because regeneration could only happen when the tendrils were removed, Orso could not see, smell, or hear. Orso was also weakly anchored because of the tendrils jammed in its behind.

Vincent smirked while looking a the terrifying Orso, “First, you stuff the meat.”

Four thick and large tendrils emerged from Orso’s back. They were too big to be Zero’s tendrils. They were Limb Seeds Vincent sneakily shot inside of Orso’s throat.

The four tendrils emerged like living snakes. They all bent and started hitting the back of Orso with devastating power.

Each hit made a loud and powerful impact. Even though each tendril could only be manipulated for a few seconds, the couple of hits each tendril made was devastating.

After the four tendrils stopped moving, most of the hardened fur on the spine was cracked and broken. The fur on the back needed time to recover.

[Great going, Vincent. Orso’s regeneration is far weaker than Overload’s recovery. Additionally, the more Orso needs to recover, the slower the overall recovery rate will be.]

“First, stuff the meat. ” Vincent repeated. “Then beat the meat.” *Snap* Vincent snapped his fingers and added, “Now it is time to cook the meat.”

*Boom!* An explosion occurred inside Orso. All the tendrils caught on fire, and Vincent was knocked away because of the blast.

“Ugh. ” Vincent grunted. His distorted vision returned. He could see Awa looking at him from above.

.....

“How did it go?” Vincent asked Awa.

“Orso is... not dead yet...” Awa said with a wavering voice. Her face was pale as if Awa was already envisioning the brutal death of her people if Orso decided to visit her home.

[Vincent. You got to see for yourself to believe what is happening right now.]

Vincent leaned upwards. His gaze moved on to Orso, or more accurately, the new and mutated Orso.
