Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 367

“Sakura. Change of plans. You take this woman to Lilith and Iris. Tell them she needs to be saved if possible.” I will take it from here.” Vincent ordered.

Sakura wanted to question why the sudden decision to change the plan, but her heart raced, and her adrenaline pumped to act. She was ready to let the Great Gray Wolf notice her and crave for her death. The reassurance of not being alone and having someone to protect her urged her to act even if she was uncertain.

Sakura lifted the fabric with dozens of rocks inside it. Her arms became hard, and her veins appeared faintly. She glared at the wolf and started spinning the fabric like a giant slingshot will all her strength.

Vincent waited for Sakura to run towards him, but a hail of rocks shot at the Great Gray Wolf instead of Sakura appearing to take the woman away.

A few rocks managed to touch the fur or the wolf’s skin before Wind Armor altered the trajectory of each rock. By a stroke of luck, a few rocks collied with one another and left a light laceration among the many scratches.

The minor inconvenience of an injury made the monstrous furious its Wind Armor was almost overpowered. Its ears moved, and its head soon followed. Sakura was now in its sight, and it wasn’t planning to let her go without revenge.

Its throat inflated and wind condensed with mana collected in its mouth. It was about to shoot towards Sakura.

[Vincent...]

.....

“I know. ” Vincent said with a murderous glare.

The unplanned attack Sakura made caused the wolf to focus on her now. Their previous plan was to let Vincent take the heat and distract the Great Gray Wolf. However, Sakura was now in the monstrous wolf’s eyes as the main priority for hurting its pride.

*Sigh* Vincent exhaled. He planted his toes in the earth for support and the tips of his sharp fingers as well. He was prepared to bolt forward with all his strength and speed.

The Great Gray Wolf shot a powerful translucent ball of compressed air while Vincent rushed forward, leaving a cloud of dust behind.

Vincent extended his arms and opened his hands. He caught the ball of forceful wind, yet his forward momentum wasn’t enough to reduce the force and intensity of its speed.

Vincent was being pushed back as he clasped the ball of forceful wind in his hands tightly. His feet dug in the ground, and a small trench followed his body, being forced to move back.

The absorption rate was much different than Melissa’s Fire Ball spell. The condensed wind was slowly decreasing as notifications of mana increase appeared at an infrequent pace.

Regardless of the absorption speed and his body stopping from being dragged after three meters, Vincent didn’t have all the time in the world to absorb the Wind Cannon spell at the current speed.

Sakura was in danger of being attacked at this rate.

The cloud of dust soon settled, and behind it was no one. Not Sakura nor Zefine. The wounded woman was taken away safely to Lilith and Iris.

[Vincent, Sakura, and Zefine are gone. But now we can’t remove the thought of the wolf going after them.]

Vincent clenched his teeth and lifted his arms upward with all his strength. The half-sized ball of wind shot up in the sky. His gaze soon locked at the vicious glaring monstrous wolf and a mocking smirk appeared on his face.

*Grrr*

“Huh?”

In the distance, a radiant light shined brightly. It could be seen from a long distance even if it was sunny. The light originated from the direction Ester, Iris, Lilith, Plow, and Zero waited. It meant Sakura safely returned to their support team.

It was obvious that Lilith used Divine Blessing to double the potency of her Minor Regen spell. However, the problem was the potency of the spell. It can only help the injured young woman and not save her life.

Vincent frowned when the Great Gray Wolf focused its attention on where his wives were. He knew the Wind Armor protected the caster from blunt attacks. His finger curled and formed as claws. He was ready for the second round.

Vincent ran toward the monstrous wolf. On the opposite side, the wolf prepared to attack him. Vincent lept and swung his arm will all his strength while the wolf opened his jaws as they salvaged for a bite of its enemy.

The hand swung, and the sharp fingertips soon landed on the Wind Armor. Instead of getting his hand stuck in the forceful current of wind, his claw curled finger dug inside the wind as if it was a material anyone could touch.

The mana was getting absorbed and becoming chaotic similar to what happened to Ollie’s Wind Armor. His hand was slowly but surely nearing the large right leg.

On the other hand, the Great Gray Wolf chose to bite Vincent viciously while being protected from an attack landing on its body. Similar to the Alpha Brown Grizzly Bear, it prided itself on having no contender when its Wind Armor was active. With that reason in mind, it decided to let Sakura be the last one to kill and eat when she disappeared from its sight.

[Now is the time to attack! There is no mana surrounding its head. The wind covering its head is ordinary wind. It doesn’t have the force to protect from attacks.]

Kazumi informed Vincent when the Great Gray Wolf removed its protection to bite Vincent. As his feet touched the ground and his left hand scratched against the Wind Armor, Vincent raised his free right arm.

This was all happened in a few seconds. Vincent lunged, attacked, and landed on the ground. The wolf counter-attacked by opening its sharp, teethed jaws and thrusting its head to bite his shoulder.

*Clang!*

The sharp razor teeth and fangs met their match when the right arm shoved the gauntlet in the wolf’s mouth. No matter how hard it tried to bite the gauntlet-covered arm off, it couldn’t be pierced nor cut.

The hardened mutated blood gauntlet was far tougher than any thin armor of the humans it killed. Normally, armored humans were like canned meat in front of its jaws. But not this time.

More problems troubled the Great Gray Wolf as the time flowed in the heat of battle. Not only the monstrous wolf couldn’t bite the arm off, but even if it tried to toss its head around to sever his arm or throw him away, Vincent remained standing as if he was too heavy and strong to be overpowered.

The difference in their strength became more apparent as the monstrous wolf was only faster and not physically stronger. Even if its jaw strength was more than the strength stat displayed, the barrage of vicious biting could only cause a few scratches and tiny dents.

The sharpness of the teeth and fangs began to dull the more it bit his gauntlet. After tossing its head and biting fruitlessly, its tongue was caught with a firm grip. It made the Great Gray Wolf feel a sense of danger.

“It is hard to grab something when I can’t feel nor see my hand.” Vincent smiled as he placed more strength to rip the monstrous tongue off. “But your gaze is telling me it is in my hands. Checkmate.”

The Great Gray Wolf had no other choice but to increase the potency of Wind Armour, but the forceful wind grinding against the gauntlet could only scratch it. Another plan was needed as Vincent didn’t intend to let go.

The Great Gray Wolf’s throat inflated, and it prepared to shoot a Wind Cannon spell at Vincent from a point-blank distance. However, Vincent persevered and tightened his grip to rip the tongue off.

The next move might be the deciding factor to the outcome of the fight. This was the decisive moment where the victor would have an overwhelming advantage when their opponent gets injured more than them.

The Great Gray Wolf opened its jaws and shot the condensed ball of wind. The force clashed with Vincent’s right gauntlet, and *Boom* Vincent was knocked in the air.

Vincent spun his body and landed on his feet with his boosted strength, agility, and perception stats. They were a couple of meters far from each other.

Vincent stretched his arms and back. He felt sore, as if he ran and slammed against a wall, but other than that, he wasn’t even moderately injured. His gaze soon moved from himself to the Great Gray Wolf. Unlike him, it was injured and bleeding.

The Great Gray Wolf had three claw-like lacerations on its leg. Additionally, the wolf coughed mouthfuls of blood. The blast might have injured its throat, and Vincent’s grip might have made one or two deep lacerations.

*Gulrr~...*

The huge monstrous wolf couldn’t even growl normally now. Its glare was on Vincent, and it wanted to kill him at all costs. It wasn’t a fight for survival anymore. Vincent became its mortal enemy, and it wanted to kill him in the worst possible way, filled with seething anger for revenge.

The breezy wind picked up and collected around the Great Gray Wolf. The Wind Armor became turbulent, and the gust became denser and spun fiercer than before.

Leaves, small broken branches, and rocks were being thrown randomly. The small clouds of dust near the monstrous wolf were being blown away almost immediately from blocking their vision.

[It looks like it wants to grind you into a paste with that kind of force. I don’t think it will be easy to approach the wolf now.]
