Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 326

*Sigh* He shook his head and continued, “It’s unfortunate I only have common produce to sell. I would have offered top-quality fresh produce if I could grow them in my small humble farm.”

Vincent gave Jack one silver coin and stored the corn cobs and sweet potatoes.

Vincent saw Jack reach for a wooden box. “Keep the change. Visit the previous Demel Blackheart’s mansion. It had become the Lionheart mansion now, and I live there. Come and find me if you have unique products to sell.” He offered.

“Dem... are you referring to the rumors of the Marquis Blackheart family son passing away and leaving the property to his widowed wife?” Jack curiously asked.

.....

“Yes. I will be marrying the widowed wife, Lilith Lionheart.” Vincent smiled and joked, “You will need to call me lord Vincent soon, haha.”

“...” Jack froze when the person before him was going to be a noble soon.

Jack was intimidated that he would be indebted to a noble rather than an ordinary everyday customer. He suffered fewer losses by selling the apples at a bulk discount before they went terrible from selling them slowly.

[I think you frightened Jack with the joke because people usually become arrogant when they become noble.]

-I guess I should have kept the noble part out.-

[Maybe he thinks you are going to join the dark side of nobility and take advantage of him, hehe]

A teen rushed and stopped beside Jack. “Father, we did it! I managed to collect three drops!” He exclaimed while showing a vial with yellow liquid.

“Here, father. I brought the flower with me. Maybe there is a drop left.” The teen placed an ordinary-looking flower on the table, yet its golden-colored pedals were stunningly beautiful to look at when noticed at a second glance.

Vincent and Kazumi both thought at the same time, ‘This is a must-have flower for Lupa.’

“How can I squeeze another drop, my boy? Leave the flower on the table and help me pack. We need to go to the Graymoon Auction quickly.” Jack said as he started to hurry and placed the unsold produce in his fixed cart.

“Can I have the flower?” Vincent asked. He looked at Iris and made an excuse, “Iris likes to plant beautiful flowers in the garden.”

“Huh? It can’t yield more nectar, nor can it be planted to seed. But it can look pretty for a day or two.” Jack looked at his son and grabbed the flower. “We were lucky to find one in between our nearby farm and the city. Thankfully the damn ants didn’t reach the road to our farm.”

“Are there more?” Vincent became curious if he could acquire more than one.

“Regrettably, no. Last week we took a break while coming here from the farm, and my son noticed a flower much healthier looking than the rest. It stood out as the other wildflowers had bloomed, yet this one right here did not.” Jack lifted the flower and presented it to Iris. “Even if it has no value as an ingredient, it is a great gift that lasts for one or two days since it is freshly picked. Please take it, my lady.”

“T-thank you.” Iris shyly replied. She extended her hand and received the flower. Iris raised a smile and rubbed the pedals while mumbling, “Do not feel frightened little one. I will let you grow once more.

“Huh? Has the color of the petals become more vibrant?” Jack asked in surprise. He saw the flower look better than when it was planted all of a sudden.

“You bet, haha. My woman is a gray demigoblin, but she has a green thumb, much greener than all the goblins combined. Even flowers are happy to be touched by her.” Vincent boasted.

Iris became so embarrassed by the praises that she hid behind him. ‘My fingers are gray, though.’ She thought while looking at the flower and her fingers.

Jack and his son packed their stuff and prepared to leave. “We are heading to the auction. Each drop might reach fifteen silver or more now that the crop costs increased.”

“See you two next time.” Jack and his son waved and left with their cart in tow in a hurry.

[They ran as if someone might target them and steal the hair growing nectar. Well, with have our overpowered farmer beside us. The flower will become immortal through rebirths now.]

“Let me keep it for you in my storage.” Vincent offered.

Iris nodded. “The flower is pretty. I will grow it with care.” She smiled at the flower in her hands before giving it to Vincent.

Vincent looked around. “Kazumi, let’s invest. Iris, hold my hand tightly. I got some haggling to do.”

Vincent held Iris’s hand and visited multiple stands. He bought a variety of summer crops for Iris to practice and regrow before setting his eyes on the three fruits Jack mentioned.

One hour later, the shopping spree ended. Vincent raised his hand and looked at the five silver coins left after spending over ninety silver worth of fruits and vegetables.

[Vincent... I know it is an investment that will hundred percent give us profit, but we are broke now.]

-...-

-Let’s turn in the cave mushroom quest later to fill our empty coffers.-

Vincent raised his gaze at the sky and *sighed* the shopping was done. He needed a change of pace, so he asked, “Want to go out of the city for some time and return? Yula gave me a pair of sandwiches.”

Iris wanted to take a breather from the crowds in the market. “Yes.” She replied quickly.

Later, the same soldier guarding the gate saw Vincent with a different woman. ‘Being a Rising Star in the adventurers guild sure is nice.’ He thought.

“Good day, sir. Can I see your identification?” He asked.

“Here is mine.” Vincent handed the adventurer’s card to the soldier.

[Oh no. Iris doesn’t have an identification card for now, but it feels terrible to call her a slave.]

“But the one next to you...”

“Vice-Captain Ben can vouch for us.” Vincent interrupted. “He knows about my woman beside me.”

The soldier became intimidated. He nodded and allowed them to leave. ‘I should not mess with him. My sick wife needs medicine.’ He thought,

Vincent and Iris left the city. They found a place to sit on the grass and have a picnic half an hour later.

Kazumi suggested watching Iris use her skill. Vincent agreed, so he summoned dozens of vegetables as the fruit would give fruit tree seeds instead of crop seeds. The time to grow and produce food was like day and night.

Iris smiled at the sight of so many vegetables in front of her. She didn’t think they bought so many vegetables as Vincent was like a different person with his haggling skills and went from one stand to another.

“I have a lot of crops to grow with the children now. Thank you, Vincent.” Iris raised a beaming smile, and her cute dimples appeared. Then she turned the vegetables in front of her into Magic Seeds.

[Iris looks happy. I guess vegetables can win a girl’s heart.]

Vincent watched Iris turn all the vegetables into Magic Seeds. “How about you try this one now? The nectar help hair to grow. Lupa will definitely love you when she hears about her tail becoming full of fur again.” Vincent summoned the Golden Dew Lily and placed it on Iris’s lap.

[Who knows, maybe Lupa will get to start liking veggies.]

“I’m happy you and Lupa will like my weak skills then.” Iris felt grateful for the praise. To her, it was merely planting seeds that were edible vegetables. It was similar to regrowing a crop simply because it wasn’t eaten.

“Nonsense, the seed can grow on any soil.” Vicent raised a thumbs up and added, “This is a miracle seed. Where ever you go, life follows.”

“Thank... Argh...” Iris felt a headache. She fell on her side with one hand holding her forehead and the other tightly clasped.

[I can see a surge of mana around Iris all of a sudden. I think she might have awakened a new skill.]

Vincent rushed to support Iris and hold her. He focused his gaze and used Inspection, but her condition not only remained healthy but there was no tired status displayed.

“I am here for you, Iris. Take it easy and let the memories of the new skill blend with your current ones.” Vincent supported Iris both physically and emotionally.

“Iris?” Vincent asked after Iris didn’t respond.

Vincent moved the hand covering her forehead and heard a familiar sound. “Iris is... she is sleeping. ” Vincent said in surprise.
