Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 91

Within the palace, the Void Empress sat high upon the Throne of Void, with countless fearsome Void Lords and Corrupted Deities prostrated at her feet in submission.

The First Court exuded an atmosphere of eerie terror, devoid of any hint of life—only an endless, cold stillness prevailed. Even the proud, ruthless, and bloodthirsty Void Lords lowered their heads, filled with dread, hardly daring to breathe.

They were all vassals of the Void Empress, their souls under her command, their lives and deaths determined by her whim.

“To the supreme master!” A tall and graceful figure appeared in the palace—a strikingly beautiful woman clad in violet armor, with eight tattered, decayed wings of darkness on her back.

Her entire being radiated an intense, dreadful divine aura tainted with the stench of decay. It was evident she had once been a powerful light deity.

Her name was Fallen Saint Heloise.

Heloise had once been a powerful and righteous deity, the main god of an ancient world that she guarded with immense strength.

But after her world was devoured by the Void, her soul was enslaved by the Void Empress, transforming her into one of the Corrupted Deities. These enslaved gods, though retaining their former powers, became twisted and more savage than even the Void Lords.

Male deities enslaved by the Void Empress were castrated and became eunuchs within the First Court, while female deities served as court attendants.

Over the centuries, Heloise had become one of the Empress’s most trusted generals, leading campaigns for the First Court. This time, she had successfully invaded another world, slain its deity, and seized its world source.

Heloise approached the Void Empress, kneeling respectfully with a face brimming with excitement and reverence. “My Lord, your most loyal servant Heloise has annexed the Hydra Realm for you and brought you the world source as tribute!”

Her face alight with fervor, Heloise held up a magic box emitting a radiant, mystical glow. Inside the box was the sealed world source.

The many Void Lords within the palace looked on with undisguised desire in their eyes. For Void creatures, a world source was the most enticing of delicacies.

But soon, they lowered their heads, knowing such thoughts were perilous. Even to entertain such desires was hazardous.

From her throne, the Void Empress gazed at the world source before her, her beautiful face devoid of expression, her eyes unmoved. She lightly tapped her right hand, opening a rift in the Void that swallowed the world source.

“My Lord, this world source is my gift to you. Please, devour it now—it would be the highest honor for your most loyal servant!” Heloise’s voice was filled with eagerness.

At these words, the Void Empress’s eyes, colder than ancient glaciers, finally shifted, glancing at Heloise. In an instant, a look of pure terror crossed Heloise’s face as her body ignited with ghostly blue flames—the deadly flames of silence.

The palace filled with Heloise’s anguished screams, her cries of pain echoing as the flames consumed her. Within seconds, she was gone, her existence erased completely from the universe.

The Void Lords watched in silence, their expressions unchanging. They were long accustomed to such scenes.

Only after Heloise’s death did the Void Empress rise slowly from her throne, then vanish. Once she was gone, the Void Lords and Corrupted Deities let out a collective sigh of relief. Her presence had weighed heavily on them.

One Void Lord glanced mockingly at the spot where Heloise had died. “That Heloise… she forgot her place.”

This Void Lord was a massive figure, cloaked in a voluminous black robe that hid him in shadow. Oddly, three shadows extended from his feet, each exuding a menacing aura.

His name was Dire Hybrid Delku. He had served the First Court for tens of thousands of years, his name infamous across the universe, ranking thirteenth among humanity’s most dangerous entities.

A Corrupted Deity whispered, “But… why did Heloise…?”

Delku replied, “That world source was meant for the young prince. Heloise dared to request that the Empress devour it herself.”

The Corrupted Deity’s face turned pale with fear. Heloise hadn’t committed an obvious crime; her request for the Void Empress to consume the world source was meant to show her loyalty.

Her only fault had been overlooking the Empress’s son—the mysterious prince. For that one oversight, she had paid with eternal oblivion.

Heloise had been one of the Empress’s most valued generals for centuries, highly regarded within the First Court. Many had viewed her as the chief lieutenant.

But in the Empress’s heart, nothing could rival her own offspring. At the slightest hint of displeasure, Heloise had been erased.

The Void Lords and Corrupted Deities in the palace trembled with fear. This was the Void Empress—their master. Capricious, brutal, and cold-hearted—the ultimate terror of the universe.
