Chapter 219: | 219 | TIMESKIP: Part Seven - Passing Months
First, despite becoming a soon-to-be father, the Authority hadn\'t emerged that much from the Citadel. It was akin to before, which was something that most were already used to. None seem to be bothered by the inactivity of the Authority despite the needed distinction for his wife.
Second, the Prime Minister had begun pursuit towards the Authority. The personnel below didn\'t think of it as much as they understood why someone would heavily admire the Authority of the United World Government. Though, it was strange for someone hesitant to be full-on embracing it.
Third, the Director of the Atlas Corporation had transferred herself Dawn City for some unknown reason. Despite mostly spending her time in the Gaea City ever since becoming the Director of the Corporation, something appears to interest her in the Dawn City.
Despite the following peculiarities of the three, it would take some time for their behaviors to be noticed by even the higher-echelons of the United World Government. After all, the following months would be busy with the war between the Pelagus Union and the Dominion of Tier reaching its climax.
To deter a lifetime of harassment and warfare against a hostile nation, the Pelagus Union had decided to invade the beaches of the Dominion, intending to end the war by conquering it entirely.
The United World Government had no comments regarding the direction that the Pelagus Union had chosen. It wasn\'t their job to dictate every move of the Union, but simply give it the ability to act upon itself and guide it to a prosperous future.
A month after the announced pregnancy of the Dragon of Liberation, the fleet of the Pelagus Union has showed up in the southeastern shores of their home island. The fleet consisted of 12 WWII Frigates, 5 WWII Destroyers, and 3 WWII Battleships, along with a large array of LSTs, LCTs, and many more.
The Pelagus Union were treating the shore invasion with utmost seriousness and a priority that would turn the scales of war towards them. The United World Government had already given the confirmation that no third-party would participate in the battle whether it\'d be the UWG or the Colonial Dominion of Mavors.
The confirmation was already enough for the Pelagus Union as they were confident in defeating and conquering the Dominion of Tier alone. Despite the Dominion also equipping themselves with guns, most of these came from stolen supplies before the two tribes severed connection from the Liberation Front.
In simpler terms, these guns were in the rarer part of the Dominion\'s army. Unlike the fully equipped armies of the Pelagus Union, armed with WWII-era arsenal, the Dominion of Tier was akin to a transitioning nation with no money.
It was at dawn when the Pelagus Union began the beachhead invasion. Landing crafts carrying soldiers and armored vehicles pierced through the rough waves of the shores, intending to land deep into the southeastern beaches of the Dominion.
The Dominion of Tier had firmly constructed a long-winded fortress filled to the brim with trenches and bunkers. Most of their advanced weaponry had been sent here, to defend the coastal front of the Dominion.
The moment the Pelagus Union puncture through the coastal defenses, the cities and the capital of the Dominion would risk falling under the control of the adversary. It must be avoided no matter what. They had to defend the coasts with their lives.
*BOOM!!!* *BOOM!!!* *BOOM!!!* *BOOM!!!*
The warships near the shores of the southeastern coast began bombarding the inner beaches of the island. The trenches and bunkers were being shredded into damnation by dozens upon dozens of seemingly never-ending explosions.
It didn\'t take long before the Pelagus Union made their landing onto the beachhead, immediately bring about companies worth of soldiers and armored vehicles into the coastal battlefront. The moment the ramps of the landing crafts opened, all hell broke lose.
Machine guns were straight up fired at the exiting soldiers of the Union, pummeling them with rain of lead. The severe opposition of the enemy was far from what they had previously expected. The weaponry equipped by these bastards were also somewhat akin to theirs.
It was beyond surprising.
Nevertheless, the soldiers kept pushing on, creating cover alongside giant pieces of rocks. The warships of the Pelagus Union continued their bombardment, destroy every nook and cranny of the shore\'s interiors.
The battle lasted for hours as hundreds of thousands of ammunitions were spent from both side. It was a bloody battle, far more bloodier than the entirety of the war between the United Navy and the Colonial Dominion of Terra.
The reason for it was simple. The casualties between two sides were immense, and their determination were ceaseless. Even when cornered, the defenders of the Dominion of Tier kept fighting without care for their lives.
It would have been easier if the Pelagus Union had aerial assets, however, they hadn\'t procured such technologies from the United World Government as it was too complex for them to operate and complicated for the UWG to give.
However, in the end, victory had given way to the Pelagus Union. What was supposed to be a drawn-out conflict lasting for years, according to the estimates of the Dominion of Tier\'s higher echelon, concluded in mere months.
Yes, the price was immense for the Pelagus Union to pay. The casualties numbered over a thousand, making the citizens of the Union mourn their lost of loved ones. Some wanted revenge against the citizens of the Dominion of Tier. Few wanted them incarcerated.
Hatred festered in their hearts, unable to accept the loss in the coastal battlefront of the north. The supreme government of the Dominion of Tier was soon dismantled. The officials and the two leading-figures of the Dominion were brought into the Court of Justice in Dawn City to be tried of their crimes.
The day the two were placed in court, was a moment of heavy debacle. Everyone in Dawn City watched the trial of the tribe chiefs, whether it\'d be the beastfolks or the humans that resided in the massive metropolis.
It took a couple of hours for the two tribe chiefs to be confirmed of their crimes, and the supreme judge of the Court of Justice sentenced them to death in the capital city of the Pelagus Union, Libera. The death sentence sparked a heavy debate upon many people in Dawn City.
Some argued it was too much, while most thought of it as expected. The two tribe chiefs simply didn\'t have a list of their war crimes against the Pelagus Union, there were also crimes relegated towards their own citizens. Their deaths were as clear as the sun rising from the east.
Three days later after the death sentence, the two tribe chiefs were sent to the capital city of the Pelagus Union, Libera, to conclude their given sentence. To be honest, some even wondered why the Pelagus Union had sent the two captured supreme leaders into the courts of the UWG.
But the answer was fairly simple. It was to invoke neutrality and partiality, aiming to categorize the listed crimes of the two tribe chiefs as free from biased. The United World Government had fairly been neutral since the beginning of the war.
Their programs of modernizing the armies of the Pelagus Union had already come ahead before the Dominion of Tier declared war. Although, there was a time when some confidential ports of the Dominion disappeared from the map, no evidences simply pointed at the participation of the UWG.
The conclusion of the war between the Pelagus Union and the Dominion of Tier brought peace in the sea region of Terra. Most could finally take their time in handling the pirate and smuggling issue that found itself plaguing the vast sea.
The Pelagus Union had also once again requested to become a state of the United World Government. And fortunately, unlike beforehand, the Union\'s application was finally accepted. Turning it into a State of Pelagus of the United World Government.
...
Meanwhile, somewhere in Dawn City, a radiant sunlight of the rising sun pierced through the silky curtains that covered the windows. Charlotte felt the light illuminating her face, rousing her up from her deep slumber.
She slowly rose up from her bed, rubbing her eyes while yawning. The comfy ivory-tinted blanket slid down from her body, revealing her black brassiere wrapping her two gorgeous planets. Her eyebrows rose, wondering as though why she was half naked.
"Hmm..."
However, before she could completely wonder about her unusual state, a voice from the side attracted her attention. It was a man\'s voice, a familiar one. It was something she had always heard and greatly admired.
Charlotte slowly turned her gaze towards the side of her bed and saw a middle-aged man comfortably sleeping with his naked body veiled under the thick cover of the blanket. Her eyes widened, recognizing it as none other than the one she admired.
Her body quivered while her heart began to pound heavy out of her chest. Crimson velvet began to tint her face, making it as red as a tomato. Three words could only escape her supple lips as a reaction of the circumstance she found herself in.
"What the fu-!?"
