Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 97: Wendy Primrose

After storing the ostrich egg, Shye looked at the priestess and smiled.

"I see that you are a third-year student from Colzen Monastery…I\'m Shye Crowley, a third-year student from Colzen Academy, pleased to make your acquaintance!"

"Wendy Primrose, a third-year student from Colzen Monastery, pleased to make your acquaintance" Wendy replied as she deeply bowed towards Shye.

Contrary to her ice-cold facial expression and seemingly unfriendly demeanor, Shye realized that Wendy was actually quite well-mannered.

"I\'m just curious, aren\'t Colzen Monastery students only allowed to go adventuring when they become fourth-year students?"

Shye slightly tilted his head as he asked Wendy with a confused expression on his face.

In contrast, Wendy stepped back with a nervous expression as she struggled to justify why she was inside the intermediate adventurer zone.

"W-W-Well, we indeed aren\'t allowed to go out until we\'re fourth-year students but I got bored inside so I…snuck out…Then, I found a magazine about how delicious and savory Steelfeather Ostrich eggs were, so I went inside the intermediate adventurer zone to grab some…"

Shye almost facepalmed after hearing what Wendy said.

From what he knew, Colzen Monastery was very strict in handling problem students so he couldn\'t help but think that Wendy would be kicked out of the monastery even if she managed to return.

In addition to this, he couldn\'t believe that she put herself in extreme danger just for a taste of Steelfeather Ostrich eggs.

Shye felt that he was about to get a headache because of this unruly and stubborn Wendy, however, he took a deep breath and decided to do things one step at a time.

For now, he believes that the best course of action would be to help Wendy get out of the intermediate adventurer zone alive before returning to continue completing his quests.

"I see…Well then, for now, let\'s get you out of here." Shye said as he turned around to lead the way back to the entrance of the intermediate adventurer zone.

After hearing what Shye said, Wendy\'s face paled. She then adamantly shook her head in refusal as she looked at him and replied

"N-No, I don\'t want to return so soon…"

"But it\'s too dangerous for you here…" Shye explained with a helpless expression.

He couldn\'t just start using brute force to take her outside the intermediate adventurer zone simply because she didn\'t listen to him so he was truly having a hard time dealing with Wendy who was as stubborn as a mule.

The two of them stared at each other for two whole minutes before Shye sighed deeply and said "Haaah…Then what do you want to do? You can\'t just continue adventuring alone"

Of course, Wendy also knew that it would be hard for a priestess to go solo adventuring because a priestess\' role was to support her party members.

If she had no teammates to deal actual damage to the enemy creatures, then her skills would be utterly useless. Fortunately, an idea suddenly popped up inside her head.

"T-Then, how about you party up with me and take me adventuring with you for a while before we return? Don\'t you have quests or something?" Wendy asked with a slightly nervous expression on her face.

She fully understands that she might be causing trouble for Shye here but she really doesn\'t want to return to the monastery yet.

Because if she does, who knows when will she be allowed to go out again? On the other hand, Shye weighed the pros and cons of her party proposal.

There was one quest in the system with a huge reward of 1500 system points right now, however, it was a bit hard for him to complete alone.

Perhaps…If this priestess was good enough, the two of them might be able to take down the Jadepaw Grizzly which was an apex (D) ranked creature.

Shye remained silent for a whole minute which made Wendy uneasy. She really wanted to go adventuring but there was no way for her to do so alone.

After a few more nerve-wracking moments for Wendy, Shye finally opened his mouth.

"Well, I still have three more quests…I guess we can complete it first" Shye said with a helpless smile on his face.

\'Haahh…I guess it wouldn\'t hurt to bring her along…\' Shye thought to himself as he started to walk towards the next quest\'s location.

Meanwhile, Wendy\'s face had the same ice-cold look, however, her body\'s gestures says otherwise.

She couldn\'t suppress herself from striking a small victory pose while practically skipping in happiness as she followed Shye toward the next quest location.

On the way, Shye and Wendy chatted casually, and then, after around two hours of walking, the two of them finally arrived at the location where tri-horned rhinos thrived.

Shye planned to test Wendy\'s combat skills and experience first to see if she would be able to help him defeat the Jadepaw Grizzly.

The two of them trod carefully as they looked for a lone tri-horned rhino, unfortunately, it was way too evident that Wendy had zero experience as she made some mistakes that exposed their location.

*ROOOOOOAAARR*

Two tri-horned rhinos noticed their presence at the same time due to Wendy accidentally making a loud noise by stepping on a twig.

"Stay behind me!"

Shye exclaimed as he charged toward one of the tri-horned rhinos.

He then narrowly dodged the rhino\'s charge by sliding under the huge rhino\'s body before using [Power Slash Lv.3] to inflict a deep wound on the right side of the first tri-horned rhino\'s body.

"Shit!"

After successfully dealing a decent amount of damage to the first rhino\'s body, Shye\'s eyes widened upon realizing that the second rhino was already right beside him.

He underestimated the charge speed of the second rhino so now, he had no choice but to use [Stoic Lv.3] to tank its full-powered charge.

However, just when he was about to activate his skill, an unbelievably thick barrier suddenly covered his body. Shockingly, the barrier wasn\'t affected at all even after receiving a full-powered tri-horn rhino\'s charge.
