Chapter 147: No Doubts
Naturally, these new guys constantly flooded places like this since most of them didn\'t have a single penny to their name.
One of those Maguses looked at the pyramid-like construction ahead, which was s few tens of meters tall. It wasn\'t that big compared to many of the buildings in the city, but it was still easily spotted in this empty region.
He turned around, intending to go check one of the various stalls there. Suddenly, the image of a ghost appeared by his side, making him jump back in scare. Then, another two such ghosts appeared by the first ghost\'s side, walking forward like they would fall at any moment.
*Tud, tud, tud...*
Those three ghosts then fell with their faces on the ground, seemingly completely dead. Only when the Magus paid more attention did he notice that they weren\'t ghosts. They were humans, just like him. It\'s just that they were so pale and badly ravaged that the thought of a human wasn\'t the first thing you would think about them.
If one paid attention, they would also see another two black cores lading by those ghosts\' sides. Feeble Magic Energy came out of those charcoal cores, making one wonder if it was some new kind of Magic Stone with a new color.
That group easily caught the attention of the new and old Maguses who came to enter the Dungeon. Just what could have happened for them to end in such a state?
Finally, that first Magus ran forward and caught one of the ghosts. "Brother, get up! What happened?!"
Someone else arrived by his side. "That\'s sad. Killers aren\'t common outside the Magic Beast Forests, but it isn\'t impossible to bump into some. Their group must have been attacked, and only these three survived."
"Look at their injuries; their bodies don\'t even have water to sweat anymore. The killers must have played with their lives all the way here."
"Don\'t worry, friends. The killers won\'t dare to get close to the entrance of the Dungeon. There are too many Maguses and Familiars here for them to risk approaching this place since their heads are worth double the amount of Ventis Credits they carry."
The ghost on the Magus\'s arm then tried to turn his body around, pointing in a certain direction. It was hard to do since a heavy bag was attached to his back. There, a Familiar floated calmly ahead, approaching the group of Maguses and Familiars who gathered to help the ghosts. The ghost could barely utter a few words. "M-Mons...ter... B-Be careful..."
When the Familiar arrived, he looked at the ghosts and shook his head, disappointed. "How rude! Here am I, using my priceless time to help you five train your bodies, and you all me monster? All I did was make you run a little bit." Naturally, that was Linfel, not satisfied with the \'exaggeration\' shown in front of him.
Run... a little bit? Training? What kind of training is this? These guys are pretty much dead already!
Linfel then conjured three water ball and purposely made them salty with his Earth Element. Then, he threw it at the three Maguses and Two charred Familiars on the ground.
*Shua!*
*ARRRRRGGGHHHHH!*
The three ghosts immediately jumped from the ground as the saltwater splashed all over their injuries. That wasn\'t training anymore. That was torture! The two charred Familiars weren\'t much better since Linfel also added a little bit of his Magic Energy into the two Water Balls in a way that made their souls tremble.
As one can imagine, the three ghosts and the two charred cores were none other than Alvin and the rest. The one who called Linfle monster was Zandel, the \'new\' member of the group.
Alvin finally recovered some of his will and complained... falling to the ground again. "Can\'t you take it easier? Why did we need to move twice as fast in the last two hours? And you even threatened us with harsher training if we didn\'t make it here in time."
Zandel\'s ghost face also showed some anger. "He is right! And what with the disappointed expression? It is a miracle we even made it!"
Milia, who was usually cold and aloof, lost all of that by now. "Linfel. That was too much. I\'m a lady!" Milia never used the lady card, NEVER! That was how determined she usually was. Today...
she made an exception...
Nori and Kefin couldn\'t even speak the poor Familiars. Linfel zapped them so much that their magic channels couldn\'t spread Magic Energy correct, which made it hard to transform Magic Energy into sounds. They were, however, just as indignant.
Linfel completely ignored their complaints, though. "Good. Since you have so much energy to talk, you obviously don\'t need to rest. Let\'s enter the dungeon straight away."
The Maguses and Familiars around didn\'t know what to say about that situation. Would anyone push their training to such a half-dead state? Was it truly a good thing for their bodies and cores? Of course, none of them knew Linfel had the capability to heal them all, so it wasn\'t really a problem.
Alvin and the others immediately trembled in fear. "Ahem... We were not complaining. We... Yes! We were just giving a spirited opinion.
That was all!"
Zandel nodded vigorously. "He is right. I didn\'t say monster. I said... I said... Right!
I said Mommy! I was just feeling a little homesick and thought about her."
Milia, the princess of the Magus Academy, today learned how to lie beautifully. "Little Fel, training is good, but so is our mental health, right? If we can\'t concentrate in the dungeon, then the training might do more harm than good. Sure you wouldn\'t force us to go in and get a bad result, no?"
Linfel glanced at them all, feeling a little apologetic. "I see. Feeling homesick is normal. Giving sincere opinions is not bad either. Seems like it was my mistake. Let\'s find some corner to rest and sleep.
Tomorrow, we are entering the Dungeon."
Then, their group walked away from the commotion.
As for the crowd watching... \'Did that Familiar truly believe that bullshit?\'
Oh, my friends, Linfel didn\'t doubt a single word...
