Chaos Evolution: Only I Was Granted 3 Wishes

Chapter 167: 25 Years Later!

It was an easy task to complete the first 900 waves, however, it was hard for them to pass the 950th, thus, they respectively stopped at the 976th and 964th waves.

Up until now, no one of them was able to cross the 1000th wave; even Alexander, who was confident in himself, failed.

The 6th was about actual support: buffing, debuffing, poisoning...

The two managed to reach higher waves with this one, but they couldn\'t reach the 1000th.

and finished by struggling to complete the 7th, 8th, and 9th.

The 7th was about effectiveness. The ascendees will have their origin law completely oppressed by other origin laws, and they have to overcome them.

The tribulation of the origin law and the tribulation of the ascendee.

It was considered a struggle because they could immediately take on the next tribulation after passing the previous ones, however, the last three were just on another level, they were forced to stop and rest.

Thus, in total, it took them 28 to 32 years to complete the ascension.

Throughout the first 25 years, Draco was still slumbering.

And when he woke up, he just pierced through the tribulations like a rocket, not stopping until the eighth one.

He was not met with any emotional wave within the 3rd tribulation, and he easily cleared the last wave of the analytical tribulation with his statement.

"What is my worth? Someone who would have the cluster of universes under his feet." was what he told the tower, and he successfully passed.

This tribulation was not about what one thought of himself, but if he believed in his words. The tower judged based on that, and it felt that Draco could possibly do so with the achievements he accumulated in his 30 years of life in this world.

The 8th tribulation was... different.

Or simpler, as Draco liked to say.

It was nothing but one wave, whose goal was to push the Origin Law to its maximum potential.

It took one look at Draco and immediately passed to the next one.

Then the 9th...

The 9th tribulation was one directed at the Ascendee.

He who wanted to ascend must have many impurities that shouldn\'t be there when he becomes a celestial.

It was a form of cleansing.

It cleaned up one\'s worries, their problems, their state of mind, their injuries—everything there was about a person.

Why was it counted as a tribulation if everything it did was make one better?

There was only one simple answer.

Change itself was a tribulation.

Not many accept change, and not many decide to forget about their past and move forward.

Some are drowning in their mistakes and miseries, not planning on just forgetting and taking that next step.

They believe that whatever they do, they will be haunted, so they never try.

It was wrong, thus this tribulation.

It was there to judge one\'s ability to advance forward—their ability to leave their nest and cross over to a wider world.

A world full of possibilities and harder challenges. A world that didn\'t need one whose mind was filled with useless problems he had when he was nothing but a mortal.

How can you, a higher-being, a celestial whose role it was to protect the world from invaders and plan his every step, be held back by worthless worldly matters?

This meant one simple thing, but, it was hard for the majority to swallow.

This was something that Alexander had a harder time accepting.

It was the fact... that he had to leave behind his family, his wives and children, and most importantly, his mother.

Becoming a celestial meant that one had to leave everything behind and it also meant that one could never ever return to his roots.

Yes. A celestial being could not go back to his world.

Once ascended, you can only look at Portalia from above and never interfere.

The only way a celestial being could cause any change in the world is by blessing beings within it and they go on to cause mayhem or fix it.

It was hard, but who were they to complain.

If one wanted to ascend, this was but the bare minimum.

Then there were the broken hearts, filthy souls, and twisted minds.

There was a necessity to fix these. How could a world ensure its survival if those overseeing it were sick in the head? or if they were depressed? or, worse, evil?

A celestial\'s duty was to protect, not to be lazy and forget his duty or become a threat to his own world.

There was always the possibility of an ascendant becoming a world destroyer; thus, it was a must to keep this in mind and lessen that chance to the minimum possible.

These were a few reasons why the 9th tribulation was considered one and why it was necessary.

So, what would happen to Draco within it?

Draco, who had no worries over mortal matter. Draco, who left everything behind without a second thought. Draco, who wouldn\'t care if the world was destroyed. Draco... who\'s goal was conquest and he would do everything to achieve it. What would be the decision of the judge over this being?

It was worth noting that the will of the Great Mother was the one overseeing what happened in every tower; thus, it already knew who Draco was. A favorite of hers.

Would she allow him to ascend when she knew for a fact that if he found it better to just turn his back on the world and become a world destroyer, he wouldn\'t think for a second and do it?

It was really not a question.

[You\'ve successfully passed the 9th tribulation. Prepare to ascend.]

Who cared about a small world when someone who had the potential to be the greatest power house she had ever seen needed to ascend?
